When you spend a while chatting to
your company's IT office you start to realize just how tough it can be
when you're in command of a company's PC wishes. Some requests are
pragmatic like the necessity for more memory to run a certain company
application. Some requests border on the loony like the necessity for a
nineteen inch flat screen monitor because that's how CNN.com looks
best. In an environment where a dep. is compelled to balance the
sane with the silly there's always the search for techniques to make
everything work better and to make the systems better to administer. As
an example, in an area where there are no physical network connections
it is sensible to execute a wireless printer so that everybody has the
power to print documents. But it might be wonderfully unreal to say
that everybody in the company would get their own private printer at
their desk and that's why the network printer was made. A
network printer is a printer that's attached to the company network
which permits it to be accessed by everybody on a selected network
segment. If your company is a bigger company then there's typically
more than one network printer and in that case each network printer is
mostly set up to serve a specific dep.. For smaller firms one network
printer will often serve. Mostly a network printer is a bigger laser
printer with a fast network connection and a bigger quantity of memory
than the standard printer would have. In a few cases the network
printer would have to have sequel added to it for it to be ready to
spool assorted printing roles. Either way the network printer makes
life a lot simpler for the IT dept although the network printer is
famous for making life sad for everyone else. The sole Real
Problem there's one executive flaw to a network printer and that's when
the printer is down then more than one individual can't access it. That
suggests that one down printer can generate doubtless lots of delirious
calls to IT screaming the printer is, indeed, down. But with all the
executive problems a network printer solves this one tiny disadvantage
is generally handled by the IT dep. in a brisk and efficient way. When
the printer goes down they do not answer the telephone while they're
fixing the printer. You can get everybody to print from the same
network printer but that doesn't mean you can always make them get
along.
